A. Catherine Duerr

A. Catherine Duerr, 90, of S. Morgan Street, Meadville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born in Meadville September 15, 1916 a daughter of William F. and Anna M. Bittler Duerr.

She along with the rest of her family operated Duerr’s Flowers on Morgan Street for many years.  She was also a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ and was involved in many church activities.  She also enjoyed needlework, traveling to visit her nieces and nephews and bird watching.

Survivors include one sister, Marguerite Duerr of Meadville; four nephews, James Duerr of St. Charles, IL, Larry Spencer of Meadville, William Spencer of Houston, TX and Jess Money of Linesville; five nieces, Anna Andes of Stone Mountain, GA, Evelyn Dennis of Meadville, Norma Zoner of Lisbon, CT, Marguerite Spencer of Davis, CA and Dorothy Betts of Meadville, nineteen great nieces and nephews and twenty three great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Duerr and two sisters, Gertrude Money and Sophia Spencer.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
