Aaron I. Doan, 62, of Meadville, prominent in area Masonic Lodge organizations, died Tuesday morning, April 15, 1969, at Spencer Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. He was ill for a month.
Mr. Doan was a past master of Masonic Lodge 408 of Meadville, a past high priest of Soloman Royal Arch Chapter 191, director of ritualistic work for the grand chapter of PA, a member of Timothy Alden Council 60 and of NW Commandery 25 of Knights of Templar, principle instructor of the 25th Masonic district school of instruction, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Erie, of Zem Zem Shrine of Erie and of Meadville Elks Lodge.
He was born at Harrisburg, December 27, 1906, a son of George and Catherine Doan. He formerly was married to the former Gertrude Palmer.
For the past 23 years, Mr. Doan was self-employed as the owner of Doan's Radio Shop on Water Street. He was a former Talon, Inc., employee for a brief period.
Surviving are two sons, James A. of Harrisburg and Robert A. of Ramsey, NJ; a sister, Mrs. Blaine (Myrtle) Fencil of Wellsville and four grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Harrisburg East Cemetery.
