Ada Bougher Phelan

February 27, 1916 — September 17, 2005

Ada Bougher Phelan, 89, of 349 N. Main Street, Meadville died at home Saturday, September 17, 2005 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Wheatland, PA February 27, 1916 a daughter of Joseph W. and Helen Campman Bougher.  She married William J. Phelan August 2, 1947 and he survives.

She was a graduate of Farrell High School and was a devoted wife and mother.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 58 years, include: two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Turner and her husband W. Woodruff of Fox Chapel and Patty Lang and her husband Tommy of Saegertown; one son, William J. Phelan, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren, James Turner and his wife Monica, David Turner, Bruce Lang and Sean Lang and his wife Beth; two great grandchildren, Jackson Risbara and Mattingly Grace Lang; one brother, John Bougher and his wife Betty Lou of Florida and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Lockovich and Myra O’Brien.

A private family service will be Thursday at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, with Fr. Rocco Tito of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 448 Pine Street, Meadville or St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
