Agnes Theresa Boban Medrick, 78, of Meadville died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the Marquette Hospice House, after a year and a half battle with lung cancer.
Agnes was born January 22, 1943 the fifth child of Anthony T. and Agnes Duda Boban, Sr. “Honey” as she was known practically from birth, grew up on the family farm in Springboro and she graduated from Conneaut Valley High School Class of 1960.
On August 5, 1961, she married, Paul C. Medrick, Jr. Honey and Paul were married for 52 years until his death on March 27, 2014. They raised three children who now have families of their own: Cindy Szymanski (Jim) and their children, Carl and Lydia; Linda Wallin (Tim) and Paul Medrick, III (Yvonne) and their children, Brandon, Victoria, Andrew and Addison.
Agnes is further survived by two brothers, Arnold Boban (Mary) and Tony Boban (Brenda); a sister, Susan VanBuren; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Boban and Betty Morrow (Don) and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much, including Tammy VanBuren who was also her Goddaughter.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vincent Boban (Nancy) and James Boban, Sr.; a sister, Ann Helen Stroup (John) and sister-in-law, Bonnie Boban. She is further preceded in death by family on her husband’s side: her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Irene Medrick, Sr.; her brother-in-law, Edward Medrick, Sr. and sisters-in-law, Nancy Johnson (Bill) and Carol Blood (Clinton) and her best friend Marion “Cookie” Medrick.
Her family was the center of her life. She loved gathering with her children and grandchildren and watching them participate in all of their hobbies and activities. She was gentle and loving and will be greatly missed.
There will be no calling hours and services will be at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Home Instead and the nurses and caregivers at Marquette Hospice House for their exceptional care of Agnes and her family at this very difficult time. Fly high with the Angels, until we meet again …. We Love You!
