Alan J. Vukmir, 26, of Townville, died Friday, April 4, 2014. He was born May 16, 1987 in Titusville a son of Dale R. and Jodie M. Colner Vukmir,
He was a 2005 graduate of Maplewood High School and attended Gannon University. He enjoyed several different working careers, including tool and die at Talbar Inc., landscaping for Blooming Valley Landscaping and absolutely loved his time as a commercial fisherman off the coast of Oregon. His greatest love was fishing, even convincing a tour boat captain to let him fish over the side of the boat off the coast of Ireland on a family vacation for he and his twin sister’s 21st birthday. He also enjoyed tournament fishing with his father, hunting, soccer, the Pittsburgh Penguins and snowboarding. He was a snowboard instructor at Mt. Pleasant Ski Resort in Edinboro and really enjoyed teaching kids (and his mother) how to snowboard. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Dale and Jodie Vukmir; his twin sister, Mattie Vukmir of Townville and he was the favorite grandson of Margaret Vukmir and Terrie Colner. He is also survived by aunts and cousins. Two uncles, Bill and Alan Vukmir, preceded him in death.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Matthew J. Kujawinski, Pastor of St. Agatha Church, officiating.
