Albert E. Rittenhouse, 87 of Sandy Lake, passed away at 2:32 AM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at UMPC Horizon in Farrell. Born on April 25, 1930 in Spartansburg. Albert was the son of the late Charles Anthony Sr. and Frances Dorothy Lecker Rittenhouse and was raised on the family farm. Albert proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955. He was stationed on the USS Raymond. He was employed for several years as a millwright furniture manufacturer. Albert loved to camp, hunt, and fish, especially on the family farm or anytime or anywhere he could. He enjoyed teaching his daughter to hunt and fish as well and they went often together. He was a welder and loved to tinker with several different trades such as leatherworking. He had a kind heart and loved to help people. Albert is survived by his two children, Robert R. Rittenhouse of Erie and Christine A. Leech and husband Glenn of Sandy Lake, grandchildren Mandi and Rick McCrea and Traci Rittenhouse, great-grandchildren Mara and Anthony McCrea, and his siblings Mary Ann Rittenhouse, Charles Anthony Rittenhouse Jr. and wife Cora, and James Rittenhouse and wife Jackie, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Stockton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro.
