Alfred H. Dreisbach

July 17, 1918 — January 26, 1980

Alfred H. Dreisbach, 61, of Meadville, operator of Dreisbach's Restaurant and local insurance agent with Metropolitan Life, died Saturday, January 26, 1980, at City Hospital after a sudden illness.

Dreisbach came to Meadville with Dean Phipps Co. for which he worked for 15 years.  He was an insurance agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 25 years.  For the past 32 years he and his wife, Margaret, operated Dreisbach's Restaurant.

He was born in Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, July 17, 1918, son of Harry and Matilda Kupfer Dreisbach.  He married Margaret Popson, June 30, 1940.  He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

He was a member of Metropolitan's Million Dollar Roundtable; an 11 year qualifier for the National Quality award of the Pennsylvania Assn. of Life Underwriters and was past president of Crawford County Life Underwriters Assn. in 1959-60.

He was a member of many social and civil organizations/clubs.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include  four daughters, Mrs. Tracy (Sandra) Miller of Polk, Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Schlosser of Saegertown, Mrs. Sydney Shopher of Lewisville, TX and Mrs. Sharon Edwards of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Dietz of Lehighton; and nine grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister.

Service were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mauch Chunk Cemetery, Jim Thorpe.
