Alice C. Clarke

December 14, 1919 — September 10, 2003

Alice C. Clarke, 83, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died there, Wednesday, September 10, 2003.

She was born in Venango December 14, 1919, a daughter of the late Roy and Laura Belle Humes Campbell.  She married Alva Clarke December 19, 1942 and he preceded her in death November 19, 1981.

She was a graduate of the Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse.  She worked in private duty nursing in Florida and previously worked as a registered nurse at Lorain Hospital, Lorain, OH and Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, OH.  She was a member of the Meadville YWCA and AARP.

She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include 2 sons, Rev. Donald R. Clarke and his wife Linda of Racine, WI and Robert A. Clarke of Wellington, OH; a sister, Edith Rabell and her husband Alton of Meadville; 2 brothers, Pressley Campbell and his wife Shirley of Meadville and Robert Campbell and his wife Shirley of Saegertown; 2 grandchildren, Stephen Clarke and Stephanie Rassmusen; 2 great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Greta Laird, Ruth Armstrong, Margaret Dahn, and Bertha Newell and 2 brothers, John and Floyd Campbell.

A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Wed. Sept. 17, 2003, at Cribbs Home Chapel, Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31, N. Park Ave., Meadville.

Officiating will be the Rev. William L. Brown, Associate pastor of Stone United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Serenity Gardens, Largo, FL.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
