Alice E. Brawley

Alice E. Brawley, 92, of 23721 Hunter Road and a resident of Beverly Health Center, Meadville, died there Tuesday, February 24, 2004.

She was born in Hayfield Twp., Crawford Co. PA, Sept. 19, 1911, a daughter of William H. & Mary M. Wood Wilson.  She married Maurice E. Brawley March 28, 1935, and he survives.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and Meadville Commercial College, and had been employed at Talon for several years.

She was a homemaker, and a long time member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. A member of the Missionary Guild, the French Creek Valley Grange for over 50 years, and a former member and past president of the “Ready For Our Master” organization.

Survivors in addition to her husband of 68 years include, 1 daughter Janet Kerr and her husband Edward, 2 sons, W. Lee Brawley and his wife Alice and Harold Brawley and his wife Vivian all of Meadville, 11 grandchildren, William, Rick, Jeff, & Tonya Brawley, Sharon Dunn, Brenda Etzel, Christine Mecca, Kurt & Kent Stark, Leslie Humes & David Kerr, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers, George R. Wilson, and William H. Wilson, Jr., and his wife Barbara all of Meadville.

She was preceded in death by 1 sister Catherine Schutz, and 1 brother, John R. Wilson.

Calling hours are today (Thursday) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Russell, pastor of Pine Grave United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Alice McClymonds, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church of Geneva.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery, E. Mead Twp. Crawford Co., PA
