Alice Freda Kusen

Alice Freda Kusen, 43, of Moon Township, formerly of Meadville, died Friday, August 25, 2000 at her residence following an unexpected illness.

She was born July 19, 1957 in Meadville, a daughter of Kenneth M. and Elizabeth "Betty" Aldrich Ortman.  She married William David Kusen January 27, 1986.  He survives.

She was a 1975 graduate of Meadville High School where she was an active member of the marching band.  She was a 1979 graduate of Clarion University with a BA in Education.  She worked as a social worker at the Pittsburgh International Airport and previously worked part-time as a teacher in the Pittsburgh City schools.  She was a member of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, Washington, PA.  She enjoyed music, boating and water-skiing, trains and streetcars.

She was confirmed into membership  at First Presbyterian Church and was formerly active in the music department and youth group.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her mother of Meadville; a sister, Rebecca Ortman of Meadville; a brother, Scott S. Ortman of Tarentum; a niece, Jessica Alice Ortman and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
