Allan James Knox

March 13, 1895 — August 30, 1965

Allan James Knox, of Meadville, died at Spencer Hospital Monday, August 30, 1965, following a brief illness.

He had retired after 30 years as a postal clerk at Meadville Post Office.

A son of George and Anna B. Hope Knox, he was born in Meadville, March 13, 1895.  He and the former Irene Polder were married July 3, 1920.

Mr. Knox was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Eagles and Moose Lodges and the Meadville Club.  He was vice commander of Meadville Barracks, World War I Veterans and a past commander of the former Knights of Malta.

He is survived by his widow; a son, George D. Knox of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Agnes) Orr of Meadville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
