Allen L. Gibson

Allen L. Gibson, 80, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He was born October 30, 1941 in Meadville, a son of William and Pauline Laughters Gibson.  He married Betty J. Clark July 29, 1961.

Allen was a 1959 graduate of Saegertown High School.  He was a tool and die maker at Talon for 31 years and subsequently was a self-employed tool and die maker.

He was a member of the Meadville Alliance Church, a social member of VFW Post 2006 and a former social member of Vernon Volunteer Fire Department.  Allen formerly served as the vice president of IAM Local 110 at Talon for several years.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, and working on cars and loved playing cards and especially spending time with family.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Betty, include four daughters, Kimberly Boeckenhauer (Keith) of Cochranton, Renee Holzer (Steve) of Meadville, Lori Moses (Derek) of Saegertown, and Milinda Kaczorowski (Paul Turner) of Saegertown; thirteen grandchildren, Brad Counselman, Greg Counselman (Jen), Eric Counselman, Katie Boeckenhauer, Robbie Trypus (Megan), Richie Trypus (Heather), Brianna Waddell (Sam), Devin Moses (Hayley), Travis Holzer (Ahlissa), Connor Kaczorowski, Alaina Kaczorowski, Rodney Turner, and Alaina Turner; eleven great-grandchildren, Lillian, Bradley, Logan, Jordan, and Grant Counselman, David Myers, Zackary Holzer, and Leah, Bryn, Rhett, and Wesley Trypus; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley McNulty and Patsy Yarnell.

Family and friends will be received Friday, December 3rd from 2-4 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Conley, Pastor of Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.
