Alma C. Shenk

Alma C. Shenk, 86, a former Erie resident, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, since June 1982, died there, Monday, November 14, 1994, following an extended illness.  She was born in Greene Township, Erie County, December 26, 1907, a daughter of the late Ross E. and Ella Wright Cook.

Mrs. Shenk had been employed at the Sara Reed Home, Erie, from 1953 to 1979, retiring as Assistant Administrator.  She was a graduate of Academy High School, Erie; a 70 year member of Simpson United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Homemaker Class of the Church.  She had been a Methodist Youth Fellowship Leader and a Girl Scout Leader.  She enjoyed traveling and crocheting.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Nancy) Crabtree of East Springfield; a son, Donald H. Shenk of Puyallulp, WA; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Legler and Dorothy Kilpatrick.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Erie.
