Alma Grace Miller

May 25, 1895 — September 12, 1966

Miss Alma Grace Miller, 71, of Arlington, VA, composer, teacher and director of music, formerly of Meadville, died suddenly Monday, September 12, 1966, following surgery at Arlington Hospital.

A daughter of Alva and Nellie Mason Miller, she was born May 25, 1895.  She attended Allegheny College.  While in Meadville, she was organist for Stone Methodist Church and a music teacher for several years.

At Arlington, she was a member, organist and choir director of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church.  She composed an opera for Washington and Lee High School, Arlington, in 1950.  She was a member of ASCAP, Mu Phi Epsilon, the Third Order of St. Francis, Northern Virginia Teachers Assn. and the Friday Morning Music Club, Arlington.

She is survived by two aunts, Miss Maude Miller of Meadville and Mrs. Frank P. Miller of San Anselmo, CA and a cousin, Mrs. Robert Shaffer of San Anselmo.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery.
