Alma L. Gilroy

Alma L. Gilroy, 62, of Meadville died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Marquette Hospice House.  She was born in Meadville July 29, 1955 a daughter of William J. and Rosilia Cira Gilroy.

Alma was very friendly, cheerful and kind.  She loved children and pets and adored her Golden Retriever, Puppy Boy.  She enjoyed swimming, playing piano, watching television and shopping.

She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Gilroy of Andover, OH and Cathy Gilroy of Meadville; a brother, Thomas Gilroy of Meadville; her step-mother, Lena Dersch Gilroy of Andover, OH and her extended family of Demetrius McDonald, Charles & Sherry McDonald and Sandy and Dakota Franklin all of Meadville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, William Gilroy and cousins, Jimmy and Frank Cira and several extended family members.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 19th from 12-2 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.  The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with David Cira, Alma’s cousin, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Philip Cemetery, Linesville.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County (for the Marquette Hospice House), 766 Liberty Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
