Alva J. Hosick, Sr., 61, of Meadville died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH.
He was born April 4, 1948 in Meadville a son of Edward W. and Cordia Thompson Hosick, Sr. He married Elizabeth Kiddle December 13, 1973 and she survives.
He was a graduate of the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. He worked for All-American Gas Station/Car Wash for 10 years and previously worked for Avtex Inc. for 19 years, John’s BP Gas Station and Quality Markets. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching football and sports on TV.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Elizabeth, include: a son, Alva J. Hosick, Jr. of Meadville; a sister, Doris Reagle and her husband Jim of Franklin, NC and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward W. Hosick, Jr. and Kenneth Lee Hosick.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. W. Dale Adams, officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood (Porters Corners) Cemetery.
