Alvin A. Shrock

Alvin A. Shrock, 65, of Conneaut Lake, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born June 30, 1948 in Hartstown, a son of Alvin M. and Susie Ann Miller Shrock.  He had been married to Patricia Walker.

Alvin was owner of Shrock Construction Company, Conneaut Lake, which served the community for over 40 years by providing new construction, remodeling, concrete, and masonry work.  In addition, he drove tractor trailer for numerous years.

Alvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling including being a team sponsor as well as sponsoring other local youth sports teams, camping trips, doing puzzles, but most especially spending time with his loving family as well as his dogs.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Doug Shrock and his wife Kelly of Hartstown, Daniel Shrock and his wife Chasity of Hartstown, and David Shrock and his wife Charity of Hadley; his father, Alvin M. Shrock of New York; nine grandchildren, Kiersten, Erika, Kylie, Cerena, Brittany, Brooke, Kelsey, Nicole, and Kolton; a great-granddaughter, Kailynne; two sisters, Barbara Hochstetler of Fredonia and Leah Troyer of Fredonia; seven brothers, Daniel Shrock of Wellsville, NY, Joseph Shrock of Conneaut Lake, Monroe Shrock of Espyville, Raymond Shrock of Avoca, NY, Robert Shrock of Jamestown, John Shrock of Prattsburgh, NY and Lester Shrock and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Shrock.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake.

A funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Rogers, Pastor of High Street Community Church, officiating.
