Alyce P. Stafford, 75, of Meadville, wife of Robert L. Stafford, died Wednesday, December 7, 1988, at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.
She was born at Mercer County August 8, 1913, a daughter of Lawrence and Mary Carey Aley.
She was a self-employed beautician as owner and operator of Brown's Beauty Shop at Cochranton from 1953 to 1958. Prior to that, she was employed at Vanity Fair Beauty Shop in Meadville from 1943 to 1953.
She was a member of the American Legion Aux. Post 19 of Orlando, FL and a former member of the Cochranton Business and Professional Woman's Club.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one son, Wayne L. Hoffman of Meadville; a stepdaughter, Jean Flickinger of Cochranton; a stepson, Robert Charles Stafford of Meadville; three sisters, Eva McCune of Utica, Donna Reiser of Stoneboro and Frances Pyle of Kittanning; two brothers, Clarence Aley and John Aley, both of Fredonia; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
One brother, preceded her in death.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
