Amy (Amelia) Santoro Work, 63, of Conneautville died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 surrounded by her family at the Transitional Care Unit of Meadville Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1952 in Rushville, IN a daughter of Angelo and Marjorie Henby Santoro. She married Kenneth L. Work November 25, 1977 and he survives. She was a 1970 graduate of Meadville High School, a 1974 graduate of Edinboro University with a B.S. in Education and earned her Masters of Science degree also from Edinboro University in 1978. She worked as a teacher for 35 years in the Conneaut School District in Linesville and then Conneautville teaching special education, 2nd grade and remedial math. She retired in 2008. She enjoyed her pets, traveling, reading, scrapbooking, loved the Christmas holiday and adored her nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, of 38 years, survivors, include: four sisters, Paula Pederson and her husband Keith of White Oak, Angela Sisco and her husband Mark of Cochranton, Andrea Beige and her husband Jim of Saegertown and Jane Spingler and her husband Pat of Clarksville, TN; seven nieces and nephews, Joshua, Katie, Courtney, Sarah, Robert, Frankie and Amelia; four great nieces and great nephews, Adam, Mark, Scarlett and Kylar; her mother-in-law, June Work, several sisters and brothers-in-law including Laurie and Leslie Work and several nieces and nephews on her husbands side of the family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Vernon Work. Calling hours will be Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Thomas N. Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335 or the Conneaut Valley Elementary School Library, 22361 State Hwy 18, Conneautville, PA 16406 or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
