Anastasia F. Barlow

Anastasia (Anna) F. Barlow, 92, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Crawford County Care Center.

She was born March 30, 1921 in Meadville, a daughter of Albert and Frances Wybiral Foriska.  She married Ray Barlow September 27, 1939 and he preceded her in death June 12, 1982.

Anna was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church in Frenchtown.

A homemaker, she had worked at Theodore’s Restaurant in Meadville, loved gardening and flowers, especially gladiolas, and had a produce stand for many years in front of her house on North Wayland Road.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Ferry and her husband Leroy of Meadville; two grandchildren, Patricia Mears and Raymond Ferry and his spouse Dawn; four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Drew, Logan, and Annika Mears; one great-great-grandchild expected in March; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Tom Barlow; three brothers, Steve, Frank, and Florian Foriska; and two sisters, Margaret Gordon and Julia Lemon.

There are no calling hours.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today at 1:00 p.m. at St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, 25997 State Hwy 27, Guys Mills with Fr. Daniel Prez as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1128 State St., Suite 301, Erie, PA 16501 or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.
