Mrs. Ancinohie Corey, 74, Townville, died Thursday, March 21, 1974, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Sandusky, Ohio, where she had been a patient for three weeks. She had been ill for several months and lived with a daughter, Mrs. Alven (Mary Esther) VanSlyke, at Port Clinton, OH, since December.
Born June 9, 1899, at Guys Mills, she was a daughter of Ephraim and Emma Adora Wygant Smith. She married Paul E. Corey, July 8, 1926. He died in November 1959. A 1917 graduate of Randolph Schools, she attended the former Grove City Normal School and taught the elementary grades at Guys Mills and Linesville. She was a switch board operator for Guys Mills Telephone System from 1928 to 1951 and was a former Tribune correspondent for Guys Mills. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church; the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Hippolyte's Roman Catholic Church, Frenchtown, and Randolph Grange.
Besides Mrs. VanSlykes, survivors include three other daughters, Mrs. Henry (Adora) Yokum, Townville; Mrs. Homer (Paula) Brown and Mrs. Jerome (Jennie) Kimmel, both of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
