Andrew S. Graham, 89, of Geneva, former Meadville merchant, died at City Hospital early today. He had been ill the past two weeks.
Mr. Graham is survived by his widow, the former LaVona Boyd; three sons, Howard W. of El Monte, CA, John L. of Chicago and James H. of Houston, TX. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive, as do a sister, Mrs. Mary Bricker of Butler and a brother, Milton Graham of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Graham was born in Bedford County, and went to Butler County as a child, where he lived on a farm. At 18, he learned the blacksmith's trade in Butler, working at it for nine years, before he became an oil driller in the Butler and Pittsburgh district, he went into the grocery business in Butler.
He came to Meadville 18 years later and conducted Graham's Variety Store on Chestnut Street for 18 years. Mr. and Mrs. Graham have lived in Union Township for 20 years.
Mr. Graham was a member of Stone Methodist Church and its Mens Bible Class.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
