Andrew Thomas Eckart

Andrew Thomas Eckart, 29, of Venango died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 4, 2017.  He was born in Meadville January 7, 1988 a son of Larry T. and Mary Toboz Eckart.  He married Kristen J. Angelo October 15, 2016 and she survives.

He was a 2006 graduate of Saegertown High School where he was a wrestler and played football and baseball.  He attended California University of PA, the University of Pittsburgh and Edinboro University.  He worked as an inspector at Meadville Forging.  Andy was an avid wrestling fan, keeping up on all of the high school wrestling across the state.  He coached Saegertown High School football, was involved with the Little Gridders program for several years and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.  He loved playing with his niece, Kinslee whom he saw almost daily.  He always looked forward to the annual camping trip to Potter County with his close friends and he will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Kristen of Venango, include: his parents, Larry and Mary Eckart of Meadville; his sister, Victoria Eckart of New Haven, CT; his brother, Craig Eckart of Meadville; his paternal grandmother, Eileen Eckart of Meadville; his maternal step grandmother, Patricia Toboz of Saegertown and his several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family on his wife’s side.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Thomas G. Eckart; his maternal grandfather, Daniel Toboz, Sr. and his maternal grandmother, Marilyn Henry.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville

The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Darrell Greenawalt, Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Denny Cemetery.
