Andy Mondo, 61, of Meadville, died at Meadville Medical Center, Thursday, August 23, 1990, after an illness of eight months.
He was born in Rankin, OH, October 25, 1928, a son of Marcillino and Caterina Impavido Mondo. He married Anna Mae Mayhan on November 6, 1955. She preceded him in death June 20, 1977. He subsequently married Bonnie Garts on October 20, 1985. She survives.
He was employed for 18 years at PPG industries as a production worker. He previously was employed at Meadville Master Antenna Inc. and the former American Viscose Co. He was a corporal with the US Army during the Korean conflict; a member of Elks Lodge 219; and had a pilot's license and flew for a number of years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his mother of Palm Harbor, FL; a daughter, Deborah Ann of Aurora, IL; a son, Micheal A. Mondo of Aurora, IL; two stepdaughters, Monica Krieder of Hermitage and Marla Kay Garts of Hartstown; a sister, Ann (Dolly) Tokos of Palm Harbor, FL; two brothers, Joseph Mondo of Jacksonville, FL and John Mondo of Meadville; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Emmanuel (Toby) Mondo.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
