Angeline Frances Limber, 96, of Meadville, passed away at home, Saturday, August 03, 2013.
She was born in Meadville on October 4, 1916, to Dominic Mottillo & Marie DeLorenzo Mottillo.
Angeline graduated from Meadville Senior H.S. in 1934; she was employed by J.C. Penney in Meadville until her marriage to Charles Limber on March 17, 1944. He passed away November 30, 1983.
Angeline was a founding member of the Reale Club in Meadville. The club's members were young women of Italian descent who have continued to meet monthly for over 80 years. She was a member of St. Brigid Church and active in its Altar Rosary Society for many decades.
Angeline is survived by her six children: Charlene Compton (Thomas), and John Limber (Sally), both of Meadville; Kathleen Collman (Robert) of Boston, MA; Mary L. Anderson of Austin, TX; Joseph Limber of La Jolla, CA; and Elizabeth Limber of Honolulu, HI.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Christine Compton Fetzner and Cheryl Compton Abbott, both of Meadville; Cari Compton Monahan of Orlando, FL, Joseph Limber & Michele Limber Conway both of Royal Oak, MI, Kathryn Anderson Lightcap and Gregory Anderson both of Austin, TX, Michael Limber of Los Angeles, CA and Brianne Limber of San Francisco, CA. Angeline's seven great-grandchildren are Klaudia & Audree Abbott, Abigail & Allison Conway, Braeden & Mason Monahan, and Aleyna Lightcap. Also surviving are Angeline's brothers, John Mottillo (Jean) of Meadville and Joseph Mottillo (Alice) of Riverview, MI; sisters, Margaret Schwartz of Fairfax, VA and Gertrude Rhedmon of Alexandria, VA and many nieces & nephews.
Angeline was blessed over these past three years to have the loving friendship of her caregivers, Christine McCain Partin and Joan McCain. She came to love them as dear friends and family, as they loved her.
Besides her husband and parents, Angeline was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Weir and Christine Valchef; a brother, Anthony Motillo and a grandson, Nathan Anderson.
The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
