Anita G. Beck, 81, of Meadville died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 3:50 p.m. at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
She was born December 12, 1936 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany the only child of the late Alfons and Hedwig Apollonie Merz Hahl.
Anita worked for Cargo Cleaners, Win-Tronics and Multi-Plastic where she retired in 1999 after 20 years of service. She became a naturalized US citizen and voted in every election thereafter, something for which she was very proud. She seemed the most happy when she was with the Monday Mix Seniors bowling league, watching them bowl and enjoying the luncheons after. She also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steeler games and pro golf. She also looked forward to her two weeks in Cancun and seeing her Cancun family year after year. She was a social member at American Legion Post 205, West Mead #2 Station 29 and VFW Post 2006 where she enjoyed seeing and visiting with everyone.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger O. Beck, Sr. of Meadville; three stepchildren, Roger O. Beck, Jr. (Trish) of Maine, Kimberlee Shader of Virginia and Dawn Rea Wood (Robert) of Maryland; five grandchildren, Juliet Patterson of Maryland, Brooke Beck of Maine, Rachel Shader of Colorado and Kayla and Mitchell Shader of Virginia; one great granddaughter, McKenzie Brooke; a sister-in-law, Carol Sue Beck Sivik (Bill) of Florida; and many nieces and nephews, including the Robert and Cindy Beck family and her extended family sister, Barb Smock McCoy and family.
As per Anita’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
