Anita Lynn Roland, 50, of Meadville, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.
She was born January 22, 1966 in Erie, the youngest of 5 siblings and possibly the smartest although it was always too close to tell for sure.
Following graduation from Meadville Area Senior High School in 1984, she left for California where she perfected her skills singing, playing the guitar, and writing music. After returning to Pennsylvania, she attended Edinboro University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art education.
Her desire to work with young people led her to Bethesda Children’s Home where she touched even more lives. After health problems forced her into retirement, she continued to find ways to bring beauty into the lives of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Gene D. Roland; a sister-in-law, Vivian Roland; her Rottweiler Panda; and her cats, Germie and Cootie.
She is survived by her mother, Ruby Roland of Meadville; her sisters, Cynthia Stroup of Bainbridge, GA and Brenda Grimm of New Castle; her brothers, Bruce (Mary Ann) Roland of Meadville and Larry Roland of Missoula, MT; her best friend, John Bender of Meadville; her nieces, and nephews, Kelly Monseglio, Seth Stroup, Benjamin Stroup, Dela Schoolcraft, Richard Clark, Mindy Wright, and Daniel Clark; twelve great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends and loved ones.
Services will be held at a future date.
Memorials may be made to a Rottweiler Rescue League of the donor’s choice.
