Miss Ann B. Mong, 84, for 31 years a teacher in Meadville's public schools, died at her home in Meadville, Friday morning. She had been in failing health for a long period.
Born at Piney in Clarion County, her family moved to St. Petersburg and resided there until she was 10. At that time they came to Meadville. Miss Mong was a graduate of Meadville High School and Slippery Rock Normal School.
Many of Meadville's citizens are former students of Miss Mong. She retired from her teaching duties after an accident which was followed by a nervous breakdown.
Her closest surviving relatives are several cousins.
Miss Mong as been a member of the First Presbyterian Church since childhood, and was a member of the Isabelle Brawley Missionary Society. Besides her interest in her church, she was in close touch with the Young Women's Christian Assn. and only recently had joined Meadville Grange.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
