Ann Guthrie

July 26, 1924 — June 29, 1982

Mrs. Ann Guthrie, 58, wife of Warren H. Guthrie, of Meadville, died at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Tuesday, June 29, 1982, after a long illness.

She was born in Meadville, July 26, 1924, a daughter of Dominic and Mary Nuzzolo Furno.  She married Mr. Guthrie November 22, 1941.

Mrs. Guthrie had been employed at Dweck's Self-Service Store for 12 years, most recently as manager, until her retirement.  She had been employed previously at Shuko, Talon, and Meadville Laundry.

She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, St. Mery's Altar and Rosary Societies, Golden Crown Chapter 44 OES, Allegheny Court 115 Order of the Amaranth, Trinity Shrine 33, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Kismet Grottoettes, and Meadville Elks Aux.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Warren (Lucy) Pitt, Jr., Mrs. Ethel (Cindi) Larkin and Mrs. Jeffrey (Patti) Roberts, all of Meadville; a son, Kenneth Guthrie of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Perry and Mrs. Ethel Evans, both of Meadville; eight brothers, Matteo, Albert, Frank, Dominic, Alfred and John Furno, all of Meadville and Tony and Angelo Furno, both of Erie; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Saundra Pitt and two sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Brigid's Cemetery.
