Anna C. Aylsworth

Anna C. Aylsworth, 97, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, passed away peacefully there, Wednesday, July 18, 2018. She was born December 4, 1920 in Friendsville, MD a daughter of Wade Albert and Bessie Savage Schlossnagle. She married Edward M. Rose in 1939 and he preceded her in death in December 1968. She subsequently married Thomas E. Aylsworth May 8, 1971 and he preceded her in death December 5, 2012. Anna was a 1938 graduate of Friendsville High School. She was a longtime employee of Loblaws Grocery in Meadville retiring in 1983. She was an avid square dancer in later years both in Meadville and her winter home that she shared with her husband, Thomas, in Ormond Beach, FL. Anna square danced until she was 88 years old. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church for over 40 years and a lifetime member of Golden Crown Chapter #44, Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her step-son, Jack Aylsworth (Kathleen) of Avila Beach, CA; her step-daughter, Connie Handy (Rich) of Meadville; daughter-in-law, Gail Rose of Saegertown; granddaughter, Jodi Barr (Tim) and great grandson, Dante Barr of Saegertown; step-grandson, Sean Aylsworth of Branson, MO and two nieces. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William "Butch" Rose and her sister, Judy Horwat. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 22nd from 12-2 p.m. in Barco Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Sarah Roncolato and Sam Marchetta, officiating. Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wesbury Foundation, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335. Arrangements are under the direction of the ROBERT W.
