Anna Catherine "Cathy" King

Anna Catherine “Cathy” King, of Sandy Lake, age 87, passed away on January 29, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Cathy was born in Rockville, Armstrong County, PA, on August 19, 1930 to the late Ross Omer Schall and Hazel Schall Schekengost. She attended Slippery Rock High School and worked as a cook for several years at the Sandy Lake Diner. She also worked for Stoneboro Red & White for many years. She was married to her beloved husband, Joseph H. King, who survives her. Cathy was a member of the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Moose in Greenville and the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion. She loved dogs and raised dachshunds for many years. She had lots of hobbies and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also liked to make homemade candy. She loved to travel and enjoyed seeing historic sights and always loved the beach. Most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family. In addition to her husband, Cathy is survived by her children Richard King and wife Donna of Edgewater, MD, Gary King and wife Belinda of Tampa, FL, and Linda Reynolds of Sandy Lake, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sonya, Wendy, Michelle, Amber, and Gigi, as well as her great-grandchildren Kindra, Brady, Chandler, Ian, Grace, Anna, Arden, Ricky, Michael, Christopher, Orion, Scotty, and Jenna, and her great-great-grandchildren Owen, Jaidyn, and Kinleigh. Other survivors of her family include her one brother, Bill Schall and wife Marie of Grove City, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to the loss of her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Elijah Zahorchaz, a son-in-law Jerry Reynolds, two sisters Martha and Jean, and one brother Edwin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro. Family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, 3461 Sandy Lake-New Lebanon Road, Sandy Lake, PA 16145.
