Anna Mae (Heald) Boyd

Anna Mae Boyd, 93, of Meadville died at home surrounded by her family, Sunday, May 29, 2022.

She was born September 5, 1928 in Meadville a daughter of Russell and Elizabeth Cotton Heald and was raised by her grandparents, Kay and Minnie Watson Heald.  She married Donald H. Boyd November 27, 1949 and he preceded her in death May 6, 2009.

She was a 1946 graduate of Saegertown High School and a 1949 graduate of Spencer Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked as a Registered Nurse first for Spencer Hospital then for City Hospital before retiring from Meadville Medical Center in 1985 after 25 years of service.

She enjoyed travelling, fishing, reading, sewing, playing cards and dominos.  She especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  She was a member of Huidekoper VFW Post #2006 Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Stright (James) of Tallahassee, FL; a son, William H. Boyd (companion, J.R. Ruth) of Meadville; two grandchildren, Travis Stright (fiancée, Rozina Hirani) of Washington, DC and Megan Waller of Bethel Park, PA; a sister, Doris Hargenrater of Meadville; a former daughter-in-law, Linda Boyd (Rick) of Phoenix, AZ and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Heald.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jane Ellen Nickell, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sharon, Maryann and Marilyn and everyone at Hospice of Crawford County for the wonderful care given to Anna Mae.
