Mrs. Anna Roselie McClosky, prominent for many years in Meadville music circles, died Tuesday at Evanston, IL.
Widow of John H. McClosky and daughter of the late John W. and Emma Hood Bork, she was known to many here as Rose Bork.
After graduation from Meadville High School in 1898, she held many positions in local music groups. She served as soloist in the Stone Methodist Church Choir under the leadership of the late Harry W. Manville, was a member of the faculty and later registrar of the PA College of Music and served as director of the Spirella Chorus for a number of years.
She later became music director of the Methodist Church at Evanston, IL. During her stay at Meadville she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. McClosky's first husband, Dr. Ernest Ashton Smith, was a member of the faculty of Allegheny College and later of Northwestern University at Evanston. After leaving Meadville, Mrs. McCrosky lived for a while at Salt Lake City, UT, where Dr. Smith served as superintendent of schools before moving to Evanston.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. William F. Colmar of Wheeling, WV and Mrs. A. L. Benze of San Matteo, CA; two nephews, John L. and W. B. Colmar; a niece, Mrs. Albert Barthelmess and two step-sons, John and James McCrosky.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
