Anna S. Sorlie

Anna S. Sorlie, 98, of Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community died there Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was born in Reno, PA March 24, 1920 a daughter of Robert John and Jennie Marie Eakin Stephens. She married Earl H. Sorlie November 13, 1954 and he preceded her in death June 25, 2013. She was a 1938 graduate of Rocky Grove High School and a 1950 graduate of Kendall College, Evanston, IL. She first worked as a church secretary at Epworth United Methodist Church, New Castle and then at Glenco United Methodist Church, Glenco, IL. She then worked in the Editorial Department of the Christian Advocate for 16 years and then in the credit and collections department of Cokesbury United Methodist Publishing for 14 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church where she served on the Finance Committee. She was a former member of Rebekah Lodge of Franklin. She is survived by two nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Harris Stephens and his wife Virginia and two nephews. The memorial service will be Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Barco Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Reno Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S.
