Anna M. (Anne) Schreckengost

Anna M. (Anne) Schreckengost, 90, formerly of 728 Chestnut St., Meadville and a current resident of Rolling Fields, Conneautville, died there, Monday, December 12, 2005.

She was born in Cleveland, OH July 5, 1915, a daughter of the late Vincent and Anna Zugelj Kireta.  She married Russell T. Schreckengost August 14, 1943 and he preceded her in death June 22, 1979.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church.

She was a 1933 graduate of Millcreek High School, Erie County, and also had attended schools in Cleveland and Albion.

Having been formerly employed at Talon, Division of Textron, Meadville, Anne had various waitress jobs in Meadville and was also employed as a clerk at Cargo Cleaners.  She was a member of a local card club, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include 2 sons, Robert R. Schreckengost and his wife Peggy of Meadville and Dennis Roe Schreckengost and his wife Barbara of Erie; 3 grandchildren, Andy, Tanya, and Christina Schreckengost; 5 nieces; and 2 nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rose and 4 brothers, Vincent G., Stanley J., Steven P. and Jack Kireta.

Calling hours are today (Wednesday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 3:45 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville with Fr. Rocco Tito as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
