Anthony W. Setta

Anthony W. Setta, 84, of Saegertown, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Pittsburgh October 6, 1923, a son of the late Joseph and Frances Setta.  He married Elsie Sheets October 1, 1949 and she survives.

He was self-employed as co-owner and operator with his brother Joseph from 1952 to 1985 of J & A Motor Service in Cambridge Springs.  He previously was employed at the American Viscose and Channellock.

A member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, he enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Elsie of over 58 years, include a son, Mike Setta and his wife Nancy of Meadville and their children Brian and Lynn Setta; a daughter, Linda Baldwin and her husband Dave of Myrtle Beach, SC and their daughter Melissa Baldwin; a son-in-law, John Downey of Charlotte, NC and his son Joshua Downey; a brother-in-law, Ernest Sheets and his wife Lois of Conneaut Lake; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Downey; 2 brothers, Lewis and Joseph Setta; and a sister, Barbara Seljak.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with Fr. Richard Allen officiating.

Interment will be in Lyona Cemetery.
