Archie E. Sliter

March 29, 1917 — September 7, 1987

Archie E. (Bud) Sliter, 70, of Guys Mills, died Monday, September 7, 1987, at Meadville Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mr. Sliter was born in Johnstown, March 29, 1917, a son of Wilson and Bertha Koontz Sliter. He married Dorothy Cooper September 27, 1935. She survives. He retired in 1971 from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as an inspector after 10 years of service. He previously had been employed as a meat cutter in Cochranton. He also previously had worked at Wentworth Auto Sales, Mt. Hope; Townville Grange; and the former Viscose Corp. He was a member of United Evangelical Free Church, Guys Mills. He was a member of United Evangelical Free Church, Guys Mills. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Army in the Pacific. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Gary L. Sliter of Guys Mills and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Sliter and Lorea Sliter and two brothers, William Sliter and Wesley Sliter. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills. Services Past Services
