Arden Glenn Prenatt, 82, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
He was born May 5, 1931 in Meadville, a son of Leon E. (Friel) and Mary DuVall Prenatt. He married Dorothy A. Theuret November 8, 1952.
Arden was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1952 to 1954. He was first employed in construction and then at Race Street Lumber. He subsequently worked for the Erie-Lackawanna and Conrail Railroads. Following his retirement from the railroad, he worked for the DeVore family at C. P. Flaugh and Company, work that he loved and enjoyed.
In his earlier years, Arden enjoyed gardening, and hunting with his family. He loved and looked forward to spending time with family on the holidays and special occasions. He loved riding his John Deere Tractor and driving his Chevy pick-up truck.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Dorothy of 60 years, include two sons, Scott Prenatt of Meadville and Pat Prenatt and his wife Laurie of Irwin; a daughter, Nancy Snell and her husband Jim of Hudsonville, MI; a brother, Thomas L. Prenatt of Meadville; five grandchildren, Matthew Olson and his daughter Ashlynn, Stephanie Olson and her son Brendon, and Nathan, Megan, and Adam Prenatt; an aunt, Inez Prenatt of Wilmington, DE; a brother-in-law, Arthur Theuret, Jr. of Meadville and his four daughters, Ruth Ann, Linda, Cathy, and Judy; several nieces and nephews including Mary (Chris) Niemi and her children, Tim and Billy, Judy Gregg and her husband Bob and their son, Brandon, and Charles Prenatt; and a cousin, Marilyn Bizzarro and her husband Anthony and their children, Brenda, Diane, Steven and Michael.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Prenatt and three sisters-in-law, Shirley and Janet Prenatt and Lorraine Theuret.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Brumagin officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
