Arden Richard Devore

July 1, 1942 — May 16, 2003

Arden Richard “Rich” DeVore, 60, of Linesville, died Friday, May 16, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born July 1, 1942 in Meadville, a son of Arden L. and Isabella E. Manuel DeVore.

He was a 1959 graduate of Meadville High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran.  He worked as a roadmaster with the Erie-Lackawanna and Conrail Railroads for 27 years.  He was a member of Meadville Masonic Lodge #408, Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Dept., and Conneaut Lake Benevolent Assoc.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his parents, Arden and Isabella DeVore of Meadville; 2 sons, Richard Arden DeVore and his wife Paula of Carlisle and Robert John DeVore and his wife Annette of Patton; a sister, Mona L. Pero and her husband Patsy of Meadville; 2 brothers, Robert R. DeVore and his wife Marcia of Springfield, VA and Timothy S. DeVore and his wife Bernadette of Meadville; a close companion, Linda Francisco of Meadville; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and 8 nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m.

A memorial service with be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
