Ardith M. Free

Ardith M. Free, 79, of Conneaut Lake, died January 4, 2002 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Westford, PA May 26, 1922 a daughter of Fred H. and P. Marie Jamison Royal.  She married John R. Free in the family home in Westford September 14, 1940 and he preceded her in death May 12, 1980.

She and her husband owned and operated the Freola Dairy Farm for 40 years.  She also had worked at Molded Fiberglass and at the Conneaut Lake High School Cafeteria.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of Shermansville United Methodist Church and its Woman's Society.  She was a member and Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge of Conneaut Lake 4-H Club.  She was also a devoted mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed being with her family and friends and sharing many memories on the phone with them.

Survivors, include two daughters, Mary M. Young (James) of Conneaut Lake and Anita S. Hans (Charles) of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Ruth Kellogg of Meadville; five grandchildren, Lisa M. Buzza (Tracy), Lori M. Huber (Bud), Michelle R. Free, John C. Hans (Kate) and Jeffrey K. Hans and three nephews, a niece and two cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward C. Free.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
