Arthur A. Swanson

June 11, 1883 — July 30, 1961

The Rev. Arthur A. Swanson, 78, retired minister of the Erie Methodist Conference, died about noon Sunday, July 30, 1961, at City Hospital after a long illness.  He had lived the past two years at the Methodist Home.

A son of John and Ann Anderson Swanson, he was born at Jamestown, NY, June 11, 1883.  His wife, the former Almeda Green, died several years ago.

Among churches he served were Salem Methodist Church near Greenville, Stoneboro Methodist Church and the Pymatuning Methodist Parish.  He retired in 1948.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Lillian) Britton of Harbor Creek and Mrs. James (Marian) Hopper of Webster, NY; a son, Kenneth of Devon; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Crosley of Jamestown, NY and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in West Lakeville Cemetery, Amboy, OH.
