Arthur Glenn Gaedecke

August 3, 1942 — June 15, 1965

Navy Ensign Arthur Glenn Gaedecke, 22, died Tuesday, June 15, 1965, at the US Naval Hospital, Quonset Point, RI, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gaedecke of Meadville, Arthur was born at Wilkinsburg, August 2, 1942.  He was a 1960 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School.  in 1964, he was graduated from Gannon College where he was business manager of the Knight, college newspaper, and president of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha.  He enrolled in Officers Candidate School at the Newport, RI naval base last June.

He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived by his parents; a sister, Marilyn, a senior at Mt. Mercy College, Pittsburgh; a brother, Navy Lt. Walter R. Gaedecke, stationed at Kirkland Air Force Base, NM; a grandmother, in Germany and several relatives in the Pittsburgh area.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery.
