Arthur L. Theuret, Jr.

Arthur L. Theuret, Jr., 96, of Apopka, FL and formerly of Meadville, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 20, 1925 in Meadville, a son of Arthur L. and Anna Smith Theuret, Sr.  He married Lorain Mae Gaines October 27, 1945 and she preceded him in death May 24, 2009.

Art was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 in Africa and Europe.  He worked at Westinghouse, Sunbeam, and Seco-Warwick, retiring in 1989.

Art was a member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, traveling to Florida, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  His focus in life was his family and he will be deeply missed.

Survivors include four children, Ruth Hart (Richard) of Meadville, Linda Specker of Stanley, NC, Cathy Morell (David) of Apopka, FL, and Judy Linder of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Colleen Day, Michael Petrillo, Alesa Pinkerton (Craig), Shana Hilton (Pastor James), Maegan Guest (Josh), Chase Morell, and Scott Morell; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Carol Gaines of Mercer and Virginia Maggiere of Turtle Creek; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Prenatt; a son-in-law, Robert Specker; three brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.

A private graveside service will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville with the Rev. Brian Hasenkopf, Pastor of St. Paul’s Reformed Church, officiating and military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.

Art will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Lorain.
