Arthur L. Yoder

Arthur L. Yoder, 71, of 289 W. John Street, Meadville, died at home surrounded by his family, Monday, May 26, 2008.

He was born in Meadville October 22, 1936 a son of V.R. and Edna May Merriman Yoder.  He married Janet Bugbee July 2, 1999 and she survives.

He graduated from Meadville High School and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy.  He then joined his father and brothers in the plumbing and heating business.

He was a life member of United Association Plumbers-Pipefitters Local #47.  Art became a certified instructor of journeymen and apprentices through United Association and Purdue University and spent 14 years instructing at night school.  He held memberships in various Masonic organizations, the Taylor Hose Co., Meadville Club, Elks Lodge #219 and VFW Post #2006.

In addition to his wife Janet, survivors, include: three children, Darby Roiz and her husband Paul of Meadville, Erin Butler and her husband Drew of Hilton Head, SC and Scott Yoder and his wife Cyndi of Cochranton; two step-children, Halen Gori and her husband Jason and Otto Kinzel IV and his wife Lisa; five grandchildren, two brothers, Tom Yoder and his wife Ruth of Meadville and William Yoder and his companion Debbie of Florida; a sister, Sue Mysnik and her husband Mike of Florida and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two stepsisters, Patricia (Bankert) Kirkpatrick and Sara (Blankert) Deeb.

Private services will be held for the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
