Athelston J. 'Aj' Anderhalt

Athelston J. Anderhalt, 97, of Hubbard, OH, formerly of Washington St., Meadville, died Friday, November 14, 1997 following a period of declining health.

He was born in Wayne Twp., Crawford County on February 7, 1900, a son of the late Joseph Martin and Ida Jane (Hart) Anderhalt.  He married Florence O. Slingluff, June 30, 1925 and she preceded him in death June 7, 1990.

He had worked as an accountant for Carpenter Electric Co. and had also worked at Talon.  He was a member of Meadville Alliance Church and had attended Grove City College.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James (Ruth Elaine) McCool of Hubbard,OH; a son, Kenneth Adair Anderhalt of Edinburg, TX; three granddaughters, Mrs. Gwenda Lynne Brown of Decatur, TX and Deborah & Brena Anderhalt, both of Edinburg, TX; and three great-grandsons, Jeremy, Jamie and Justin Brown.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Charles Anderhalt  and a sister, Lotus Messerall.

Services were held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffery Connley, pastor of Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.

Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
