Audrey J. Shannon, 90 of Stoneboro, passed away on June 24, 2024 at St. Paul Homes in Greenville. Audrey was born in Jackson Twp on June 3, 1934 to the late Joseph and Violet (Stone) Geiger. She was a 1951 graduate of Stoneboro High School and went on to work as a postal carrier, a bank teller for First National Bank of Mercer, then for 20 years in food service at Lakeview Schools, retiring in 2000 as Director of Food Service.
She married her beloved husband, William H. Shannon, on June 2, 1951. Together the two owned and operated Shannon’s Dairy Farm for over 44 years. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1995.
Audrey was a member of Stoneboro Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder and in the Women’s Society. She also attended Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church. She was a member and past president of the Stoneboro Women’s Club, and was active in the Sandy Lake Senior Center where she loved to play shuffleboard. She also enjoyed playing golf, cards, and spending time in Florida.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Guy (Melanie) Shannon of Stoneboro, and Jay (Linda) Shannon of Landisville, PA, grandchildren: Jason (Jeannine) Shannon; Ashley (Nathan Ohl) Shannon; Matthew Shannon; Lee Shannon; Alison (Joshua) Steinberg; and Eric Shannon, great-grandchildren: J.J. Thompson; Ethan Thompson; Vera Shannon; Daniel Shannon; Louis Steinberg; and Leia Steinberg, brother: Arnold (Liz) Geiger, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her siblings: Joe Geiger; Phyllis McClearn; and Deloris Newton.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 4 pm – 7 pm on Wednesday, June 26. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 27, at 11 am with the Rev. Beth Creekpaum, officiating.
Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery
