Augustus J. Duchanois

February 13, 1855 — January 1, 1753

Augustus J. Duchanois, 89, life-long resident of Frenchtown, died Sunday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eugene DeMaison, Frenchtown.

Mr. Duchanois was formerly a farmer, wagon-maker and blacksmith.  A member of St. Hippolyte RC Church, he assisted in its construction and served as sexton of the church for 30 years.  He was also a member of Frenchtown Grange.

He leaves, besides his daughter, two sons, Fred of Meadville and Arthur of Frenchtown; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
