Aurelia Mcbee Hogan

Aurelia McBee Hogan of Meadville, PA passed away February 22, 2022 after an extended illness.

She was born January 27, 1943 at home in Heavener, OK.  Her parents, both deceased, were Stanley and Lula Beth Maxwell McBee.

In 1960 Aurelia graduated as a National Merit Scholar from Poteau High School in Poteau, OK.  Aurelia attended the University of Oklahoma, majoring in English Literature.  She met her husband James C. Hogan at OU and they were married in September of 1970.  James C. Hogan survives.  Aurelia was married to James Stroud Holt from 1963 to 1968.

Aurelia was a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Meadville.  From 1967 to 1985 Aurelia was employed at Sinclair Corp., Oklahoma City, McFarlin Montessori in Norman, OK, Meadville Cooperative Preschool, Meadville YMCA and Meadville Council on the Arts.

Noted for her humanity, entertaining, love of books, and a Guinea pig or rabbit in her lap, she will be deeply missed.  Survivors, in addition to her husband Jim, include a son and daughter, Max Holt and Ada Hogan Porter; daughter-in-law, Sarah Boughton Holt; son-in-law, Geoff Porter; grandsons, Charlie Holt, McAlester Holt, Maccabee Porter and Ezra Porter; and sister, Alice McBee Gatlin.  Her caregiver, Janet Maynard, was devoted and loyal in her care for many years.

Private services will be held at a later date.
