Ava Jean Peterman

Ava Jean Peterman, 73, of 1120 Market Street, Meadville, died at home Saturday, July 28, 2007.

She was born in Guys Mills May 8, 1934 a daughter of William G. and Ava Miller Peterman.

She was a 1952 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School.  She worked for 40 years for the G.C. Murphy Co.

She was a former member of Grace Baptist Church, Greenville and a current member of Carmel Baptist Church in Mosiertown where she taught Sunday School, Junior Church, sang in the Choir and was the church Clerk for many years.  She was Acting President of the Holland Towers Resident Council and was former Secretary of Wayland Cemetery Assoc.

Survivors, include: two sisters, Betty Hodge and her husband Doug of Jackson Summit, PA and Rachel Barr and her husband Rick of Meadville; two brothers, William Peterman and his wife June of Conneautville and David Peterman and his wife Linda of Conneautville, Sister-in-law, Margie Peterman of Crossingville, two uncles, one aunt, many cousins, 13 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews and 6 great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, L.G. Peterman; a sister, Dorothy Byham and a nephew, Daniel Gable.

Calling hours will be Monday from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Ronald Sheldon, officiating.

Burial will be in Wayland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
