Bailey A. Nobles, 78, of Meadville, died Thursday, May 15, 1997, at Meadville Health and Rehabilitation Center following a period of declining health.
He was born May 31, 1918 on Chadbourn, NC, a son of the late George Samuel and Lulu Edwards Nobles. He married Mary Maxwell August 12, 1946. She survives.
He worked as a farmer and was the founder and owner of Dependable Drywall, Inc. of McDonald, OH which he owned for 25 years until his retirement in 1970. Mr. Nobles was a member of First Assembly of God Church, was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Samuel Nobles of Meadville and Ted Nobles of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Elizabeth Everman of Circleville, OH; a sister, Madeline McDaniels of Evergreen, NC; a brother, Coy Nobles of Chadborn, NC; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by s son, Benjamin A. Nobles, a sister and seven brothers.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
